The Humans of Goatanamo & The Henitentiary
Aaron and Kat have always loved the outdoors. In 2020, their passions for nature, self-reliance, and the forgotten skills of bygone generations led them to flee the Syracuse suburbs in search of greener pastures.
Starting with a dozen chickens and a few ducks, their training as New York State Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators kicked in to keep predators out. Before long, the ever expanding (and conveniently adjustable) 10X10 panel sectioned pen began to resemble a prison, and when the goats began to arrive, electric was added. They took the leap, and Goatanamo was born!
We invite you to enjoy our prison-related humor, but know that care and maintenance of our herd is not a joke. Livestock is clean-tested, vaccinated, microchipped, and groomed (hooves trimmed, fleece shorn) as appropriate seasonally. Medical records are kept, as are birth, sire/ dam, and registration paperwork when applicable.
NOTE: Why is there no phone number listed?
We do not need our car warranty extended and have not been victims of the Camp LeJeune incident; telemarketers have been relentless lately, but we are more than happy to share our phone numbers when you email and can also be reached on Facebook @Goatanamo.
